Our Mission

There are many former slave plantations across the country that have been converted to wedding venues, old house museums, private residences, and the like without the conversation of land healing or reconciliation of the past atrocities. Our hope is that this ceremony can spark those conversations. We hope to continue to offer these healing ceremonies across Virginia and beyond.

"Although slavery has long been a part of human history, American chattel slavery represents a case of human trauma incomparable in scope, duration and consequence to any other incidence go human enslavement."

Healing Histories

Embracing History, Inspiring Change

At the heart of Heal Lands lies a commitment to transforming sites of historical pain into spaces of collective healing and growth. Our mission is to honor the legacy of enslaved Africans, acknowledge the profound impacts of slavery, and cultivate a pathway to healing through acknowledgment, education, and restoration. We believe that by connecting to the land and its history, we can foster a deeper understanding, inspire change, and promote a future grounded in justice and compassion.

"The purpose if these ceremonies is to bring peace. There is so much suffering surrounding historic plantations across the nation but through gathering together and ceremony we can uplift this dark energy and heal our nations past along along side the many organizations that are working to preserve and honor the heritage and legacy of the African-American Community.
